When a recipient rejects a case

See what happens when a recipient refuses to sign: where to find the reason and the document, and how to fix the case and send it again.

NextSign0:44

A recipient can refuse to sign, for example if there is a mistake in the agreement. The recipient chooses which documents the rejection concerns and writes a reason. The case is closed, and you're notified by e-mail.

The video shows where to see the rejection and how to fix the case and send it again. Below, the steps are described.

How to do it

  1. Open the case. The case is marked as rejected in the list under Cases. Open it to see the details.
  2. Read the rejection. At the top of the case, you see who rejected it and when, which documents it concerns and the recipient's reason.
  3. See what happened. The event log shows the rejection together with everything that happened before, such as who had already signed.
  4. Make a corrected copy. Click "Fix and resend (copy case)". You get a new draft with the same documents, recipients and settings.
  5. Fix it and send again. Change what the recipient asked for. Upload a new version of the document, for example, and send the case again.

Good to know

  • A rejected case can't be reopened. The corrected copy is a new case, and the original keeps its history.
  • Signatures from the rejected case don't carry over to the copy. Everyone signs the new version.
  • You can also copy a case from the menu on the case or from the list under Cases.
