Place signatures in the document

See how to place signatures and text fields exactly in the document in NextSign, and when the placement is used.

NextSign0:50

You can decide exactly where each signature goes in the document, for example above the signature line at the bottom of the page. You can also add text fields that the recipient types in before signing.

Placements are only used when signing with Touch or SMS + email. If the recipient signs with MitID or another e-ID, the signature is on the signature page. Below, the steps are described.

How to do it

  1. Choose a method that uses placements. In the case settings, the signing method must be Touch or SMS + email. Otherwise the signatures can't be placed.
  2. Open the placement. On the documents step, click "Place signatures and fields" on the document.
  3. Place the signatures. Choose a signer and click the spot on the page where the signature should go. Drag the box to move it, and use the corner to resize it. Do the same for the other signers.
  4. Add text fields. Under "Text field", choose a recipient and click where they should type, such as a date or a name in capitals.
  5. Save. Click "Save". On the document, you can see how many signers are placed.

Good to know

  • Text fields work whatever the signing method. What the recipient types is printed on the signed document.
  • Placements can only be used on PDF documents that must be signed.
  • A signer can have one placement per page.

Questions and answers

Why can't I place a signer?

The signer must sign with Touch or SMS + email. With MitID and other e-IDs, the placement isn't used, and the signature is on the signature page.

Can I change the placement afterwards?

Yes. Open the placement again and move or remove the boxes, as long as the case hasn't been sent.
