Create and send your first case
See how to create a case, add a recipient, upload the document and send it for signing.
With NextSign you send documents for digital signature straight from your browser. A case keeps the documents, the recipients and the settings in one place, and you can follow it until everyone has signed.
The video shows the way from the dashboard to a sent case. Below, you can read the steps one by one.
How to do it
- Create the case. Click "Create case" in the menu on the left, and choose "Create case" when your document is ready.
- Name the case. You and the recipients see the name, so pick something easy to recognise, such as the title of the agreement. Folder, email and reminders are already set up, and you can change them if you need to.
- Add the recipient. Click "Next", add a recipient and enter their email and name. You can add as many recipients as you need.
- Upload the document. Click "Next" again and drag the document into the field, or click to choose it. You can upload PDF, Word, Excel, XML and iXBRL.
- Send the case. Click "Send documents" and confirm. The recipient immediately gets an email with a link to read and sign the document.
- Follow the case. On the case page, you can see when the email was delivered and opened, and when the document is signed.
Good to know
- Recipients don't need a NextSign account to sign.
- You can add up to 25 documents to one case, and each file can be up to 100 MB.
- The case is saved automatically while you work, so you can always finish it later.
- When everyone has signed, the recipients get the signed documents by email, and you're notified.
Questions and answers
Can I send to several recipients at once?
Yes. You can add as many recipients as you like and decide the order in which they sign.
How does the recipient sign?
The recipient opens the link in the email, reads the document and signs with the method you chose for the case, for example MitID or BankID.
What if the email address is wrong?
You can correct the recipient's email on the case afterwards and send the case again to the right address.
