Case settings explained
An overview of the settings on a case: name and reference, folder, email, deletion, signing methods, reminders, deadline and language.
The first step when you create a case is Settings. Here you decide the name, folder, email, signing methods, reminders, deadline and language. Most fields are filled in already, so you only change what is different for this case.
The video goes through the fields from top to bottom. Below, you can read what each setting does.
How to do it
- Name and reference. Both you and the recipients see the name. If you use your own case or customer numbers, enter it in the reference field so you can find the case later.
- Folder. The folder decides who in your company can see the case. The text under the field shows which roles have access.
- Email. Choose the email template the recipients get, and preview it right away before you send.
- Deletion. Choose whether the case and its documents are deleted automatically after a number of days. Useful if you have rules for how long personal data is kept.
- Signing methods. Choose how the recipients may sign, for example with MitID or BankID. You can allow several methods and let the recipient choose.
- Reminders. Turn on automatic reminders and choose how many are sent and how many days apart.
- Deadline and language. The deadline is the number of days the recipients have to sign. The language decides which language the recipients see in emails and on the signing page.
Good to know
- Everything is saved automatically as you go. Click "Next" when you're ready to add recipients.
- If you use the same settings again and again, save them in a preset and start new cases in one click.
- If the deadline of a sent case is running out, you can extend it from the case menu.
Questions and answers
Can I change the settings after the case is sent?
Yes, some of them. Reminders, deadline and deletion can be changed under Edit settings on the case while it's open.
What happens when the deadline expires?
Recipients who haven't signed can no longer do so. You can extend the expiry date on the case if more time is needed.
Who decides which signing methods I can choose?
The methods depend on what your account is set up for. You can choose among the ones shown in the field.
