Add or remove a recipient after sending

See how to add or remove a recipient on a case that has already been sent, without anyone having to sign again.

Sometimes plans change after a case is sent. Someone new needs to sign too, or a recipient should no longer take part. You handle it right on the case, without starting over and without anyone having to sign again.

Below, the steps are described.

How to do it

  1. Open the case. Under Cases, open the case. You see the recipients and who has signed.
  2. Add a recipient. Click "Add recipient" and enter the name and email. Choose whether the recipient must sign, and which group they belong to.
  3. The order. The new recipient joins at the back of the queue and gets the case once those before them have signed. If it's already their turn, they get it straight away.
  4. Remove a recipient. Click "Edit" next to the recipient and choose "Remove from case". Confirm, and the recipient's link stops working.
  5. See the history. Both the addition and the removal appear in the case history with the name and time.

Good to know

  • You can add recipients until every signer has signed. If the case is completed, copy it and send it again.
  • A recipient who has signed can't be removed, and neither can the last signer. Cancel the case if nobody should sign.
  • If everyone else has signed when you remove the last one missing, the case is completed straight away.

Questions and answers

Do those who have signed need to sign again?

No. The documents are the same, and the existing signatures still count.

Is the removed recipient told?

Their link stops working. If you want to explain why, write to the recipient yourself.
